CSB Division Five Premiers – Murrumbeena 

Murrumbeena  274  Vs  Aspendale  192 

Murrumbeena won the toss and elected to bat in perfect conditions for cricket. Murrumbeena got off to a great start and didn’t lose a wicket until the score passed 88. Aspendale continued to fight  back into the and took 4/30 when Man-of-the-match James Lockhart was run out for 98 to leave the score 4/118.  

There was a reset from Murrumbeena to have a lower order fight back to finish the day with total of 9/274, with great contributions from Liam Anstee 45 and Dan Venturoni 33. Aspendale bowlers toiled well all day with Micheal O’Shea 3/65 off 19 overs and Reid Irvine 2/82 off 26 overs best on the day.  

 Murrumbeena started day 2 with a wicket 2nd ball of the day. Murrumbeena were on top and had Aspendale 5-60 until a fight back from Aspendale lead by Ethan Sorrell 58 and Reid Irvine scoring 53 who combined for 78 for the 6th wicket. Aspendale ended up scoring 192. Murrumbeena a Charlie Lloyd starred with the ball and ended the match with 4/40 off his 18 overs and Naveen Paranagama all taking 3/36 off 10 overs.  

The Game was played in high spirit and was well umpired by both Luke and Greg over the two days.
